CJ is the CEO/President of Sign World TV (SWTV) and President of Elevate Sign. He is also a professional entertainer, comedian, actor, producer, director, writer and musician.
For more than 35 years, CJ Jones has done just about everything, from performing a Tony Award winning play “Children of a Lesser God” on tour, to directing Deaf kids from high school to kindergarten in their own productions, to acting on TV and movies, performing one man show on tour in the US and 5 continents, to giving motivational speeches to colleges and companies and inspiring hearing and deaf, young and old. CJ vigorously spreads the message to students and adults alike, that your differences do not make you less worthwhile. He also emphasizes the importance of our beautiful sign language, promoting that it is respected and recognized as a pure language.
Brittany Applen is passionate about education and knowledge. She loves learning and strives daily to gain a better understanding of the world and the people around her. She has been teaching American Sign Language courses and Interpreting at College of the Canyons since 2003. In 2007 she was hired full-time and has continued to teach ASL and also Interpreting courses. She has been the Advisor of ASL Club since 2004. In her role as an advisor, she is honored to work with student leaders in their continued dedication to host events and activities sponsored by the Department and Club that are inclusive. On-campus fundraisers, workshops, and festivals that occur every fall and spring, as well as the generous support of the Associated Student Government, and local businesses have allowed the Department and Club to host reach out to many students and community members, hearing and Deaf. Since 2009, the combined efforts of the above mentioned have led to four ASL Club and Department sponsored performances at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center.
Cassandra has been producing shows in Los Angeles for 17 years. She produced and directed the filmed performance of CJ Jones' one man show "What Are You...Deaf? During the 2002 LA EdgeFest theater festival she produced and acted in "Something Persists" and "SAP". For Layolla Marymount University School of Film and Television Cassandra produced multiple Screenwriter showcases. Cassandra is thrilled to be a part of the first ASL Artist.
